Class Dojo is a school communication platform that links teachers, students and families securely by sharing classroom learning at home through photographs, videos and messages.
You can use it on any device, the free mobile app for IOS or Android or from a computer at www.classdojo.com. You will be sent a unique code and asked to sign up using an email address and to create a password before you select your child from the class list. When connected, you will be able to access your own child’s online portfolio and any messages or homework tasks the teacher shares.
You will also have access to the Absence Dojo which should only be used to notify school if your child will not be attending for any reason. This is monitored by the attendance officer so it is important that you keep school informed of your child’s absence so that their attendance can be coded correctly.
Portfolios
These digital student portfolios allow students to share classwork with their teachers and family. Teachers can assign projects directly, view and approve work. Students can create and upload photographs, videos, drawings and files from their devices. Parents and teachers can leave positive feedback in the form of a like or a comment.
Stories
Stories are instantly updating of messages, pictures and videos which are shared at home with parents. School Story helps teachers to share with all families connected to their school whilst Class Story helps teachers to share with all families connected to their class.
Messages
Messages allow teachers and parents to communicate directly. Staff will aim to respond to any messages within 24 hours but those sent out of hours may not be actioned until the next working day.
Dojo Points
Teachers use Class Dojo to promote positive behaviours in class. Each child gets a monster avatar and teachers award Dojos for things such as meeting targets, handing in homework or being kind.
There are videos on YouTube for tutorials on using Class Dojo:
